Our Mission

This event was created to celebrate the importance of play in all it's forms and connect families with fun, active, and meaningful experiences in their community.
​
Created by busy San Diego moms, the festival was designed as a simple, one-stop shop where families can discover activities, programs, and resources in one fun and engaging setting. It’s a space where kids can run, play, explore, and try new things—while moms connect with trusted local businesses, services, and opportunities to plan a great summer and find support all year long.

Our mission is to inspire movement, creativity, and connection by bringing together games, recreation programs, and community organizations in one vibrant, interactive festival. By gathering everything in one place, we make it easier for families to explore options, ask questions, and build a summer—and community—full of fun, learning, and discovery.
OUR TEAM
LANA BARRETT BURKE
Co- Founder & Program Coordinator
​​Lana serves as the Program Coordinator for Power Play Live, overseeing all activity zones and daily programming across the festival. She organizes games, coordinates schedules, and ensures each area runs smoothly while keeping the energy fun, engaging, and well-structured throughout the event.
​
Working closely with volunteers, vendors, and team members, Lana helps bring each experience to life and ensures guests have a seamless and exciting day from start to finish.
GRACE RIOS
Co-Founder & Marketing Manager
Grace leads the marketing and promotion for Power Play Live, helping build awareness and excitement throughout the community. She coordinates social media, advertising, partnerships, and outreach to attract families, vendors, and sponsors.

Through her efforts, the event reaches a wide audience across San Diego, ensuring strong attendance and a vibrant, high-energy festival experience.
EVELYN LEE
Event Planner
Evelyn is the mastermind behind the magic at Power Play Live, making sure every detail comes together perfectly. From coordinating vendors and sponsors to organizing activity zones, permits, and schedules, she keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

While guests are busy having fun, Evelyn is making it all happen—turning plans into an exciting, seamless, and unforgettable festival experience for everyone.
LIZ SINCLAIR
Volunteer Coordinator
Liz is a busy mom of three who truly understands kids, families, and what it takes to keep things running smoothly. As the saying goes, “If you want something done, ask a busy person,”—and Liz brings that energy, heart, and organization to every part of the festival.

As Volunteer Coordinator, she recruits, organizes, and supports the entire volunteer team, making sure everyone knows their role and feels confident. From assigning volunteers to activity zones and guest services to helping lead programs like Kids Run the Fun, Liz creates a positive, welcoming experience that keeps the event running strong from start to finish.
